Project Overview – Agribusiness and Value Chain Development for Farmer Organizations in Tanzania’s Lake Zone
The project, implemented by Vi Agroforestry under a 10-month consultancy (May 2025–January 2026), aims to strengthen the capacity and sustainability of four Farmer Organizations (FOs) in Tanzania’s Lake Zone. It focuses on agribusiness and value chain development, helping the FOs transition from grant-dependent operations to self-sustaining, commercially viable enterprises.
IMED Limited supports this initiative by conducting value chain analyses, developing investment-ready business plans, and delivering Financial Literacy and Training of Trainers (ToT) programs. The consultancy also facilitates strategic linkages with financial institutions, technology providers, and market actors, enabling smallholder farmers and FOs to access finance, markets, and technical expertise. The overall objective is to enhance organizational sustainability, promote market-oriented operations, and generate lasting economic benefits for communities.
