Agriculture and Food Systems in Tanzania

Agriculture and Food Systems in Tanzania

Project Overview – IMED Limited
The Business Development Service (BDS) for Inclusive Finance in Agriculture and Food Systems in Tanzania is a five-year

initiative under AGRA’s 2023–2027 strategy, implemented in collaboration with IMED Limited, TAPBDS Limited, and other partners. The program aims to drive inclusive agricultural transformation by supporting youth, women, and disadvantaged groups through capacity building, market linkages, and access to finance.

IMED’s role focuses on delivering high-quality BDS to agri-MSMEs, including training, coaching, and business support, to make enterprises finance-ready and strengthen their market participation. Key activities include profiling MSMEs, identifying capacity gaps, linking youth-led enterprises to financial and technical services, and monitoring BDS impact. The overall goal is to enhance the performance, profitability, and bankability of agri-MSMEs, positioning them as drivers of employment and sustainable growth across Tanzania.
