Boosting Youth Entrepreneurship for Job Creation and a Sustainable Future

Project Overview – Boosting Youth Entrepreneurship for Job Creation and a Sustainable Future (Under the TangaYetu Program)

The Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED Foundation) is implementing the project “Boosting Youth Entrepreneurship for Job Creation and a Sustainable Future” under the TangaYetu Program, an initiative supported by Foundation Botnar and coordinated by INNOVEX Development Consulting Limited. The project contributes to TangaYetu’s mission of enhancing youth well-being, empowerment, and opportunity in Tanga City through inclusive economic transformation and innovation-driven development.

IMED’s project focuses on building youth and women entrepreneurship capacity to stimulate job creation, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods. The initiative promotes enterprise development through entrepreneurship training, mentorship, business incubation, and access to finance and markets. It further integrates climate resilience and sustainability principles, encouraging green and inclusive business models in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, waste management, and clean energy.

In addition, the project strengthens the local entrepreneurship ecosystem by fostering collaboration among key actors—youth, financial institutions, government bodies, private sector players, and innovation hubs—while supporting policy advocacy for youth-friendly business environments. Through these interventions, IMED aims to nurture a new generation of skilled, innovative, and resilient young entrepreneurs who can drive socioeconomic transformation and sustainable growth in Tanga City.
