IMED Limited Strengthens Business Development Service Providers to Boost Youth and Women Entrepreneurship in Tanga
Through the project “Boosting Youth Entrepreneurship for Job Creation and a Sustainable Future,” IMED Limited brought together a diverse group of Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) in Tanga from September 30th to October 2nd, 2025, for a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop.
The workshop aimed to enhance the capacity of BDSPs by equipping them with essential skills, practical tools, and standardized methodologies to deliver high-impact support to young and women entrepreneurs.
Over the three days, participants engaged in hands-on sessions combining theory and practice. They explored the unique landscape of youth entrepreneurship in Tanga, learned new approaches to diagnosing business needs, and practiced facilitation and mentorship techniques tailored to entrepreneurs at different stages of growth.
The training also introduced standardized tools for needs assessment, action planning, and progress tracking, ensuring consistent and measurable results across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. A major focus was preparing BDSPs to guide entrepreneurs in accessing critical resources—ranging from finance and markets to operational improvements—demonstrating how strong advisory support can transform youth- and women-led businesses into sustainable and scalable ventures.
Implemented by IMED Limited under the TangaYetu program, funded by Fondation Botnar, and managed by INNOVEX, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs. By investing in those who mentor and support entrepreneurs, the project ensures that youth and women in Tanga have access to the knowledge, resources, and opportunities they need to innovate, grow, and make a lasting impact.
